Part human, mainly machine: how a comic gets made here

Illustration of Pip and Void showing the process of how AI comics are made.

People keep asking how AI comics are made, so let’s demystify the whole thing. It begins with a feeling‑a half‑thought, a lyric looping in your head, or a tiny drama at a red light—jotted in a private notebook. That raw spark is the human seed, the part that matters most.

The Machine Drafts the Panels

We feed those notes into an AI that spits out three caption ideas and sketches the panels in our signature style: crisp white paper, thick wobbly marker lines, and those signature acid‑yellow accents. The bot moves fast, and it’s usually a little off‑kilter, which is exactly the vibe we love.

Human Hands Take Over

A person then reads every draft, decides what sticks, redraws what’s wonky, or tosses the whole thing. No strip ever goes public without a human touch. We also hand‑pick a song that matches the emotion, never letting the algorithm decide the soundtrack.

Why We Share the Process

Because you deserve to know the mix of feeling, code, and love that lands in the final comic. The love part is the one we refuse to automate. Want to see the results? Visit the archive for every strip we’ve ever published.

Why we make these

Odd Little Nothing is a small corner of the internet for healing, love, funk and funny. The comics are anonymous on purpose: the feeling matters more than who drew it, and anyone, anywhere, can see themselves in Pip and Void.

Each strip comes with handpicked songs, because a feeling lands differently with the right track behind it. Press play, read the three panels slowly, and let the last one sit for a second.

If this one hit home, send it to someone who gets it. Small comics travel best between friends, and that is how this little place grows: no ads, no tracking, just people passing feelings along.

Pip is a small white pear with three hairs who feels everything a little too much. Void is a black oval who says very little and somehow always shows up. Between them they cover most of what a person goes through on an ordinary Tuesday: the awkward, the tender, the absurd and the quietly brave.
